Horoscope Interpretation

The horoscope is composed of different symbols. To interpret a chart, we start in the center and move from the inside out.

In the center of your horoscope, you see a small, empty circle. This circle symbolizes the center of your being, your soul and free will, the part of you which is untouched by anything. It represents your freedom and ability to determine and decide what you do or do not want to do, in which direction you want to go.

On the next layer, you see red, blue and green lines, the aspect pattern. The lines are referred to as aspects and are the results of 2 or more planets being in certain angular distances to each other. The aspect pattern represents the interrelationships of all the planets, the structure of our consciousness and expresses the inner life motivation of a person. For example, people with aspects spread all around are all rounders, while people with more focused aspects are the specialists.

On the next level are the planets (including Sun, Moon, Moon Node). They are our primary tools for self-actualization, like actors, with whom we function in this world. For example, the Moon symbolizes our feelings and emotions, Saturn our body, skin, boundaries, fear and much more.

The next outer layer is called the zodiac with the 12 astrological signs. They indicate hereditary dispositions and symbolize 12 different ways the planets can function. The planets react in the specific way of the sign they are in. So if, for example, your Sun (rational mind, the way you think) is in Gemini, it functions in a Gemini manner (flexible, communicative and much more). It functions differently than it would do if it were in Leo.

On the most outer layer are the 12 houses, which represent 12 life circumstances, fields of experience, where the planets interact with the environment. The first House begins with the ascendant, AC, and ends where the second House begins. MC stands for Medium Coeli (midheaven), IC stands for Imum Coeli and DC for descendant.

There is also what we call the life clock, with which we can determine where the chart owner stands at any given time. The clock hand starts at the ascendant, AC, at birth and moves anti-clockwise around the horoscope. It takes six years for it to pass through each house, so in 72 years, it moves through all 12 houses. At the age of 72, it crosses the AC again. By moving through the houses the clock hand passes through the zodiac signs and passes by the planets. We call age-point where the clock hand is located at a certain time. In the chart, you will see every birthday marked with a little line on the outer circle. The age point shows the developmental dynamics and inner themes of a certain point in time and how we go about them. Of course, inner development is dependent on our consciousness and willingness to learn. The effects can have manifestations in outer experiences.

Many astrologers use other methods to determine what is currently going on in someone's life, such as "transits" or the "solar chart".

There are always 2 ways to deal with a situation: consciously or unconsciously. Consciously means saying yes and actively learn to deal with something until it is integrated. Through what has been learned, consciousness is enhanced or, unconsciously, one looks away, does not want to know or change anything. Then the principles manifest into a learning process whether we like it or not.
